Pension Fund head says no decision on retirement age raise

SOCHI, Feb 15 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has not ordered to raise the retirement age, the issue is being considered by experts, Pension Fund head Anton Drozdov told PRIME in an interview on Thursday.

“There have been no orders to take care of this on the government level. The issue is being considered by experts. But there will be social discussion of the issue later. We have to do everything gradually and take the labor market into account,” Drozdov said.

Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said that a 25,000 ruble monthly pension, which is two and a half times as much as the subsistence level, is a priority for the near future.

Drozdov said that the government will keep saving part of pensions in the Pension Fund until 2020 and by that time a working corporate pension system must be established.
